About the Role

Kolomolo is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our international Service Enablement team within the Digital Services department. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer passionate about building scalable microservices, working with modern serverless architectures, and taking ownership of both development and quality assurance.

You will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining backend services, while contributing to the modernization of existing systems in a cloud-native environment.

 What You’ll Be Doing

• Design, develop, and maintain backend microservices using TypeScript.

• Build and deploy scalable applications using AWS Serverless architecture (e.g., Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB).

• Take full ownership of the development lifecycle: feature delivery, bug fixing, refactoring, and production deployments.

• Develop and maintain automated tests to ensure high-quality, reliable code.

• Contribute to system modernization and migration initiatives based on architectural guidelines.

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact solutions.

• Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and continuous improvement processes.

• Ensure best practices in code quality, performance, and security.

• Agile Scrum team (Tech Lead, Fullstack Developers, Scrum Master, Product Owner)

• International and distributed team (Poland & Sweden)

• Strong engineering culture with a senior-level team and stable delivery velocity

• Developer-owned quality assurance model (testing is part of engineering responsibilities)

Tech Stack

• Languages: TypeScript (Node.js)

• Cloud: AWS (Serverless architecture)

• Architecture: Microservices

• Testing: Automated testing frameworks (unit/integration)

• Integrations: External enterprise systems, payment platforms, and data services

 What We Are Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in backend development

• Strong proficiency in TypeScript / Node.js

• Hands-on experience with AWS Serverless services

• Solid understanding of microservices architecture

• Experience with test automation and quality-driven development

• Ability to work independently and take ownership of solutions

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments

• Strong communication skills in an international setting

Nice to Have

• Experience with enterprise system integrations.

• Knowledge of event-driven architecture.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
