Purpose of Role and Key Responsibilities:

As a Data Platform Engineer, your primary mission will be to help us build a self-serve data platform tailored to different data personas, including both tech-savvy users ("Coders") and non-technical users ("Clickers") to build data and AI products. 

You will be instrumental in crafting cloud services that meet the diverse needs of these personas, ensuring that our platform is accessible, scalable, and cost effective. 

Your role will involve architecting and developing scalable data solutions and continuously monitoring and optimizing the platform performance. 

Your expertise will enable our teams to leverage data more effectively, empowering them to turn raw data into actionable insights.

What you'll do as a Data Platform Engineer:

• Build and maintain scalable and reliable self-serve Data Platform using AWS services
• Ensure data quality and integrity and interoperability across various upstream source systems
• Measure the success and performance of built capabilities

Qualifications and skills:

To be successful in this role we see that you have:

• Experience with DevOps practices and tools (CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes)
• Proficiency in designing scalable data platform architectures and pipelines for sensor data
• Proficiency in lakehouse and data warehousing solutions
• Programming experience in SQL and Python, preferably in an Apache Spark setup· Familiarity in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g. Terraform)
• Knowledge of data governance practices (data cataloging, access control, lineage, audit...)
• Knowledge of AWS security best practices and compliance (multi-region data transfers, PII management, etc.)
• Understanding principles of data science and machine learning and passion for developing consumer-facing AI solutions
• Familiarity with Databricks and Snowflake
• Team player with great communication skills
• Belief in the democratization of knowledge and insights
• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or equivalent
• 5-10 years of experience in software development or data engineering/science
