Responsibilities:

• Lead Migration Projects: Oversee end-to-end data center migration projects, ensuring minimal downtime and seamless transitions.
• Develop Migration Strategies: Create and implement strategies for migrating data and applications, leveraging cloud-native technologies.
• Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth migration processes.
• Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation plans to address potential issues during migration.
• Automation: Utilize automation tools to streamline migration tasks and reduce manual intervention.
• Compliance: Ensure all migration activities comply with industry standards and data security regulations.
• Performance Optimization: Analyze migration data to identify trends and improve future processes.
• Disaster Recovery: Develop and execute disaster recovery plans to ensure data integrity and minimize downtime.
• Mentorship: Mentor junior team members on best practices and emerging technologies.
• Stay Updated: Keep abreast of industry advancements and integrate new technologies into migration plans

Qualifications and skills:

• Proven experience in data center migrations and consolidations.
• Hands-on experience with server and storage hardware.
• Experience in network troubleshooting and optimization.

• Windows Server Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Windows Server operating systems, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Virtualization Technologies: Proficiency with virtualization platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, and other hypervisors.
• Cloud Platforms: Experience with cloud services like Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform, particularly in migration contexts.
• Networking: Strong understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPNs.
• Storage Solutions: Familiarity with SAN, NAS, and other storage technologies, as well as data replication and backup solutions.
• Scripting and Automation: Ability to write and utilize scripts (PowerShell, Python, etc.) to automate migration tasks and processes.
• Security: Knowledge of security best practices, including firewalls, encryption, and access controls.
• Database Management: Experience with database migration, particularly with SQL Server and other relational databases.
• Monitoring and Performance Tuning: Skills in monitoring system performance and tuning for optimal operation post-migration.
• Disaster Recovery: Expertise in developing and implementing disaster recovery plans and procedures.
• Compliance: Understanding of compliance requirements and regulations related to data center operations and migrations.
• Project Management: Ability to manage and coordinate complex migration projects, including timeline and resource

Main Tasks:

• Assessment and Planning: Evaluate the current data center setup and create a comprehensive migration plan.
• Application and Data Migration: Manage the migration of applications and data with minimal downtime and data loss.
• Infrastructure Configuration: Set up and configure new data center environments, including servers, storage, and network components.
• Testing and Validation: Conduct thorough testing to ensure the new environment is functioning correctly before going live.
• Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
• Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of the migration process, including configurations and procedures.
• Collaboration: Work closely with IT teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure a smooth migration process.
• Monitoring and Support: Provide ongoing monitoring and support post-migration to address any issues and optimize performance.
• Compliance and Security: Ensure all migration activities comply with relevant security standards and regulations.
• Training and Knowledge Transfer: Train staff on new systems and processes, ensuring effective knowledge transfer to relevant team members.
